Around August 2010 (I think) I decided that I would lose 50 pounds by the time I turn 50 years old. I had lots of time. The big day is not until June 11, 2012. I started a blog which I remember calling something like fifty by fifty and shot off one post. I then promptly set about to procrastinate.
Today, over a year later, I tried to find it. I couldn't but I did feel better about my procrastinating when I found this http://50by50.blogspot.com/ ... that is not me.
So while this is not an original idea its still worthwhile.
In the last year I have been heading in the right track. I was 202 pounds at the start. Today, I am 186 pounds. That would be marvelous if I was trying for 50 by 60.
It is a little embarrassing to admit that I have lost 9 pounds of that in last three weeks.
This is what I have been doing.

Drinking shakes and soup.. makes it really easy not to have to think about food. I only have to think about food when I cook for my family. I have developed a strategy for that which I will share in a later blog.

Running stinks. It hurts and bits of me scream blue murder. I can run for about a minute and a half right now. I birthed 3 kids so I compare each run spurt to contractions to get me through. I walk on my non run days.
My biggest inspirations
My kids.. My middle child challenged me to walk 30 minutes a day for a month. I negotiated it back to 20. The running started because walking is Boring.

Sharlene is my age and about my height and was amazing. I hope she is still doing well now.
So off to shower now before having a nice cup of tomato soup.
Hopefully this will not be my only ever post.
